Braiding Hair Near Downtown Detroit

One road from downtown: Gratiot northeast to Houston Whittier, just before 7 Mile, about twenty minutes. The braiding hair section there is one of the deepest parts of the store, in the fibers, lengths and codes the common styles need.

What's stocked

Crochet hair is worth knowing apart from the rest. It comes pre-looped, already twisted or curled, so it hooks into a cornrow base rather than being braided in strand by strand, and a full head takes two or three hours instead of six. It sits alongside the pre-stretched and bulk packs in synthetic, blend and human, with latch hooks, gel and the rest of the install supplies.

Early enough for a morning install

The store opens at 8:45 AM six days a week, which is early enough to buy hair on the morning of an appointment rather than the night before. That's the earliest opening of our four locations.

Every online order is picked up at this store. Ordering the packs you need in advance means the color you want is set aside rather than depending on the shelf, and weekday orders before 2 PM Eastern start processing the same day.

Getting here from Downtown Detroit

Gratiot Avenue starts downtown and runs straight to our Detroit store: follow it northeast for about 20 minutes to Houston Whittier, just before 7 Mile. I-94 east to Conner is a little faster at off-peak times. The Detroit store is also where online orders are picked up.
